We all have heard the myth of the ragged soldier and the dirtier the uniform the more authentic. Truth be told though, these men of the mid 1860's were soldiers and were expected to look like soldiers. Their NCOs would have insisted on proper appearance whenever appropriate. In defference to this, Nick has added button boards to his fantastic line up. You simply slip these under your buttons to protect the fabric of your coat, use a damp rag and a little ash out of the fire pit or a little rottenstone, and your buttons are ready for inspection. These little gems are only $10 each plus shipping.

Also in the works are new hand knit wool socks in "oxblood" for $29 a pair with other colors coming soon.

We are also going to add a Gardner pattern canteen copied of an original in Nick's private collection for $90.

Also I have been able to procure five copies of "Hardtack and Coffee" by Billings in hardcover. These are BRAND NEW and list for $25. My price is $20.
