We've been having an interesting discussion about slavery and slave owners in the Camp Gossip folder.

Here are four books that cover the issue of slavery from about every angle:

"Southern Honor, Ethics & Behavior in the Old South" by Bertram Wyatt Brown, published by the Oxford University Press in 1982.

"Roll Jordan Roll, The World the Slaves Made" by Eugene D. Genovese, published by Vintage Books in 1972.

"Slavery and the Coming War" by Gary C. Walker, published by A&W Enterprise in 1996.

"What This Cruel War Was Over" by Chandra Manning, published by Alfred A. Knopf  in 2007.
