I like all of that but I think it might still be too much to digest. Perhaps start at the end of Big Black and use some technique or other to encapsulate the previous battles and maneuvers, otherwise you're talking about a ten hour mini-series to do it any justice.

ya i agree mel... it would be alot to cram in... it would defintley be too much....  i kinda want to focus on grant and sherman... and how they turned the Union war effort  ;-)

Like other people mentioned before, the only war movied anymore that get sold or become great hits are one that focus on mainly the privates or even NCOs, not the whole army of commanders in general.

-Band of Brothers
-Patton
-Hamburger Hill
-The Pacific (the new BoB coming soon)
-Pearl Harbor (for the most part)
-Saving Private Ryan
-Cold Harbor
-others that aren't coming to mind at the moment

But if you do make this awesome and quite compelling movie (which I personally like Mr. Makamson's idea), please don't add a love scene in it to spoil the whole movie...and may not allow me to even watch the movie...
