Here is a link to a new Lincoln article that makes for interesting reading entitled "The Lincoln Mystique- In Honor of his 200th Birthday"
http://www.ovcwa.com/MonthlyFeature.html

“The Monthly Feature” is a page on the web site of the Ohio Valley Civil War Association, a non-profit reenacting organization, featuring an original Civil War related article. Each month we will publish a new article on the web site. Articles from previous months will be linked to an archives section that will be accessible from the “Monthly Feature” page.

Subject matters are open for topics. We are searching for original contributions. All works will be copyrighted to the author who will retain all ownership rights. These articles will not be resold or used anywhere else. Anybody that is interested in obtaining an article featured on this web site for publication in a different location, periodical, book, etc. will have their inquiry and contact information forwarded directly to the author.

We would like to have articles that are interesting and informative. Our target audience includes ladies, teenagers, experienced and inexperienced reenactors, and anonymous members of the public. We are trying to stay away from hardcore blood and gore, boring documentaries, uninteresting biographies, and the typical topics of Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Lincoln biography, the debate over the involvement of slavery, why the south lost, comedy-like humor, opinions, racism, etc.

We would like a reader to think “Wow, that was pretty cool” or “Hmmm, I didn’t know that” or “That was quite interesting, I know who I would like to show this to.” Fiction may be accepted in the form of a short story but is not the intent of the page. However, if the fictional piece really tackles the message that we are striving for, then it will be seriously considered.

There are hundreds of topics that good articles can be written about. I am a decent editor and can assist in that area, or you can get your ideas together with someone else who has a skill for writing to showcase an article with finesse, style, and literary creativity.

Please pass this information on to someone who you may know that may be interested.
