What is the source for the Jackson photo on the 1st page?

Just curious. I am not convinced it is Jackson.

Most of the Photos came from the Libirary of Congress and the Jackson Photo is one.

I searched the LOC and couldn't find it.

Can you post a link?

I showed it to someone who said they believe that is Capt Hotchkiss, not Jackson. Are we sure it is him?

Take notice of how wide the parts are on the ladies hair styles. Their hair must be pulled back really tight.

That middle photo. the "lady" with the two horizontal stripes. Lose the earrings and add a forage cap and a sack coat.

Not necessarily Bill---the hairstyles don't require severe pulling to achieve.  But if one simply parts the hair in the same place for oh, say 30 years, and slicks it down with pommade, that spot is always going to be there.
