Just a side bit of humor for you all out there..

My son who is 3yo likes to play soldier and he has his "gun" that he will pretend to put powder down and then fire his gun.  Not shoot but fire.

In the meantime he has also created a cannon that he shoots. Well the other night he wanted me to play and wanted to know where he could get batteries to fire his cannon (round canvas laundry basket).  I asked why he needed batteries for his cannon and he said that it is how they fire.

It took me a moment to realize that in overhearing conversations about cannon and talk about batteries.. he thought that you needed them to fire the cannons..

Oh, that it was all that was required to fire those things! It would be a darn sight cheaper!

Look out. Sounds like you have a future Redleg there.

We aren't sure which branch he wants to try yet.  He likes to ride horses.. so who knows the artillery might just be the place for him..

Right now we think he might be an officer because at the last couple of events we have gone to as spectators, he likes to conduct the troop movements on the battlefields..
