Anyone showing up for CW days in Hanover PA this weekend? I may take a trip down, if I get the grass cut and nothing new shows up on my honeydew list. There's some good authors (please discount the guy who wrote the "what if Jackson was at Gettysburg" book from that statement) signing books off and on all day Saturday.

Hanover, South of Carlise, south and east of Gettysburg. There was a small cavalry to do there in '63. Hanover Shoes, Hanover 'Tater Chips. That one.

What's going on in Mifflintown? Both are about the same distance from home.

Grumpy, now find that Centennial era newspaper article about the reenactment of the Battle of Hanover, and post it here for all to enjoy. It was on the OTB Forum about a year ago.

I like the drive by the Hanover Shoe Farm. Never have seen any fields of ripe shoes ready for the combine, but they do have a heck of a lot of pretty horses for the viewing.

Dusty and I will be looking at corn, corn byproducts, and creamy corn goodness along the fall line of Virginia.

directions...
My mailing address is RR2 Box 1273, Mifflintown Pa 17059. If they are coming in on RT 322 east, have them take the Mifflintown exit and follow CW signs. From Rt. 35, toward MIfflintown, turn left onto 333 and follow that to East Salem; turn right at intersection of 235. Traveling west on 322, take the Thompsontown exit follow CW signs. If this doesn't help, try a map quest to Mifflintown or Thompsontown depending on which direction of travel.

i think that covers it!

Wait until they stand in front of you and say, "Mama, I want to go to college in England."

"Daddy, I need gas for the car"
"No, I don't wear those kind of jeans!"
"Hey I just ate 6 Hershey bars!"
"Awww; I don' wanna' take a shower."
"Homework? I was supposed to turn in homework?"

I wouldn't change it for the world.

If any of you have college age kids you might look at the exchange student route.  Our oldest went to King’s College in London and the University of Wales in Swansea, Wales.  The biggest expense was the “commute.”  Once you get them there, it does not cost as much as in this country.  The best thing is students do not take again courses they have already taken in high school, or at least, ours did not.  Different schools may have different curricula.  It is indeed possible to finish in three years over there whereas in this country it is not too far fetched to think of the typical four year degree program taking five years to complete.
