I agree with what your saying as a whole but when it gets to a point one side runs down the other who does it help.

Hi Doug,  I agree whole-heartedly both sides are guilty of running down the other, and that should stop.

Perryville this year is a fine example of an event trying to please both sides. Terrible for the mainstream. No consideration for families.

That's the problem when events try to cater to both sides, one side always feels like it got cheated out of whatever it was they wanted.  And that's why the split in c/p/h and mainstream has been more helpful.

Now everyone gets to enjoy what it is they do in their own ballpark, amongst those playing the same game, with the same set of rules, regulations and expectations. Knowing I have a way to play with others who have the exact same vision for the event as I do has not only made me enjoy reenacting more, but has also made me (and others I've talked to) more tolerant of others and their style of reenacting.

Yes Sir.

I don't need their food, I like CPH folks, talk to them every chance. Those folks read and know history, I have a wife and young'n I have to do things different. I camp different but when it comes to the chow I eat and want to be ask. Manners like I've said before never went out of style, some folks need to learn that.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying here?  Did you want the event to give you rations?  Did the event promise rations?  Did the c/p/h group at the event do their own ration issue?
