I saw this post over on the AC about this book project: An Illusion So Real: American Civil War Reenactors

You can visit the guys website and see a trailer for a documentary he is working on.  So far it looks pretty safe.

I wonder how many of us are gun shy about participating in things since the Unfinished Civil War video from the history channel came out.

I accessed the site and watched the trailer. Pretty well made and touches on a number of areas within the hobby.  Hopefully it gets more in depth about how widespread the differences in the hobby are.  And I mean that in terms of diverseness of approach and not "them vs us", although that should be addressed.
  I question the filmakers assertion that the hobby has hundreds of thousands participants worldwide.
