I took this article from the MOC News Letter and thought it deserved a mention:

"47th Virginia Infantry, Co.I, Longstreet Corps Honored
On January 19, the MOC unveiled the newly conserved 2nd 47th Virginia Infantry flag to the 47th Virginia Infantry, Co.I, Longstreet Corps. The volunteer group raised over $40,000.

Jill Russell, the scribe for the the VA Infantry, worked as an intermediary between her group and the MOC staff to coordinate the fundraising.

The flag was captured near Weldon Railroad, VA on Aug. 19, 1864 by Sgt. Charles Brown of the 50th PA Infantry. It was sent to the conservator last year."

Good job guys!
