Fort Warren May 15/65

I recognized Landon Mason, a few days ago, among the prisoners here, you can say to his friends he seems to be is looking well, we are not permitted to speak to those of the prisoners who are not of our own party.

-excerpt from letter written by prisoner of war, Brigadier General Montgomery Dent Corse, CSA, 17 VA Inf.,to his wife Elizabeth Beverly

He's not allowed to talk to another prisoner? Maybe because the man to which he refers is enlisted or a line officer?

So, how could Landon be in prison in 1865 and discharged in 1863?

I don't have an answer...just looked up what info was available.  Perhaps as Bill said, maybe he reenlisted again even thought he had a disbility discharge previously.  I did find this after doing some more research:

Regiment Name Expanded: Mosby's Regiment, Virginia Cavalry (Partisan Rangers)

And this was some information on Mosby's Regiment:

Muster Date: 21 Apr 1865
Regiment State: Virginia
Regiment Type: Cavalry
Regiment Number: Mosby's
Regimental Soldiers and History: List of Soldiers
Regimental History
