My unit made the magazine this month for our event at the Slaughter Pen Farm. Page 6. Bill and I are somewhere in the picture...it's pretty small.

It was small enough for me to pretend I was there, too, though I was pretty well hidden on the other end of the line.  Still, it was kinda nice to see it -- on that scale we all looked pretty good.

Grumpy,

Also in the current issue is an article about the rocks of the battlefield, and another article mostly about the Slyder Farm.

The first is "Ramparts of Rock: The Natural Fortifications of Gettysburg's Geology" by Garry Adelman and Tim Smith, starting on page 14.  Fans of William Frassanito's photographic work will enjoy this article immensely. The latter is "A Tale of Two Catherines" by Barbara Sanders, starting on page 28.   This entertaining piece mentions what happened to the farm and family during the battle, and the fact they moved to Ohio afterwards.

The former is good reading for both Spangler's Spring and Pitzer's Woods NPS LHs, and the latter article for the latter effort. Nice timing!
