just curious if anyone will be showing their face there. it will actually be our first reenactment... that is if nothing blows up on our way (which happened on the way to our first one so we never made it!!).

Having lived close by for 30 years I was curious...do you know what unit or organization is the sponsor? It is some beautiful country in that area.

 Yes, if I'm registered for
the event; expect buckets of rain.

The PACS is an interesting group. Charles and I fell in with one of their units at Shippensburg last June. I had fun, there was pie. Rained cats and dogs on Sunday.

Somewhere I still have a copy of that Shippensburg AAR, and it made the Camp Chase Gazette article pale in comparison.  The 3rd Bn. PACS does an Old Bedford Village event that is supposed to be a lot of fun, too.

Nice people.

Having been with Grumpy for a number of years it is correct he has a black cloud with him at events and we have gotten wet. Dave you were with us a Cold Harbor and the CRs were you not? You did not get wet if I remember correctly, but Sterner and I sure did during the Friday cloud burst.

It rained so much at that NPS LH that Andrew D. built a fire.   images/icones/icon7.gif

I'll need to check with Nicky Hughes and see what the situation is in Frankfort as far as the drought's concerned.  If it's still severe what would it cost to get you to go down and set up a week early?

Just kidding, but what Nicky never told us two years ago was that the drought then almost cancelled the event.  The fire chief had issued a ban on fires.  Right before the event some major rain hit Frankfort and the event went on.  We've had so much rain here in SE Ohio lately that I can't imaging that Frankfort would have a problem this time.

Just as long as the matches light.

Linda.

And after that happened, while the night candlelight tours were going on and I was a camp guard, the NPS firetruck came up and put out the CRs small cooking fire and ruined the sweet potatoes being cooked. Than later while the guys were sleeping almost got run over by the general staff.....but one thing I really enjoyed at that event was marching the same route as the NY Heavy Artillery and having Kevin O explain the battle and situations they faced.

Things catch on fire around Andrew like things used to get wet around me.
