I went to memorial service this previous weekend.  It was nicely done, but yet the location was not what you normally expect for that type of thing.  It was at Point Clear, AL.  Point Clear is a resort area on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay where the posh Grand Hotel is located.  What now days is the luxurious Grand Hotel was used as a hospital during the Civil War.  Lots of injured Confederates were shipped there from Shiloh and Vicksburg.  Those who died were buried in this cemetery.  There are 400 plus Confederates and a single Union guy buried there, but only forty-six have been identified.   The Grand Hotel sports its own immaculately manicured golf course and this cemetery butts up against it.  It’s kinda of an odd arrangement.  There were golf carts whizzing past as this service was underway.  I rather suspect a few of golfers might have been a tad chagrinned when the cannons spoiled their shot.

You could have offered to help the golfers with your "shootin' irons".

That has to be a somewhat surreal setting with the course and cemetery right there.  As Bill has stated though, at least the cemetery isn't under the golf course.

In Laurel County KY there's a cemetery that is under water (intentionally) although they tried to move all the CW vets.

Last time I was at the Grand was on my honeymoon. And, I spent some time poking around that cemetary while Dear Husband was playing golf

Last time I looked, I could not afford it anymore.

Still, it would be nice.  Do they have the place fully reassembled now since the last attempt to wash it away?
