Greetings Tom,
In the town I live in, a retired person does not have to pay city income tax. Thus the lower rate.

Congrats Rob!  I'm guessing I'll become a grandpa sometime in the next ten years or so.

Hey by the way, Joe is on my butt about Marmadukie's.  Still got some time!

Rob the Wimp,

I was changing diapers in a tent during a reenactment this weekend. I do hope that young Stephen learns what a Porta-Potty is for in the very near future!   smile/!moon.gif

Were they "Hardcore" diapers or "Sutler Row" diapers? Can you imagine the look on the laundress' face?

Grumpy,

Totally modern and farby disposable diapers. We all have our authenticity limits. That's ours! smile/eek.gif

The kid does have some really neat period clothing to wear over his disposable diapers. Ever try to find period shoes for a three year old?

Bill,

Armed with that type of projectile, a trebuchet could really liven up the "night firing."

Charles,

I should have offered those used "projectiles" to the Confederate artillery. Could have given a entire new meaning to the term "pissing" the Federals off. smile/eek.gif

Period shoes for kids are hard... if you have an Amish stores around you, or any amish families, ask them where they get their shoes. I got lucky last season and found some on sale at Walmart.. no clue what they did with them after that! Paddock boots work also, but you have to be careful as many are zippered on the side. I refuse to pay $80 for a pair of shoes they will wear 3-4 times in a yr lol. So I look for the cheap way out.

We did receive a right interesting pair of drawers to wash at Winter of 64.

[i]Raised my own on cloth diapers.  Never could get the hang of those paper ones later on.  Tried to talk Pat Klien into selling me a massive bolt of diaper a couple of years ago, but it was a custom run, already committed.

No re-learning necessary:  It's like riding a bicycle; just jump back on and start peddling.  And it's a whooooole lot easier than toilet training....

Bernie,

Tell me about it. Young Steve has no problem informing us when he's messed his drawers and expects a quick response to his problem. Letting us know a few minutes in advance seems to be way too much trouble!   smile/!moon.gif

Bill,

Just get around Co. D, 1st Minn. at some event somewhere sometime and you'll hear potty training stories for hours on end. Some of them are hilarious, and the things kids will do for M&M candies these days is entertaining. One of the highlights of Shendandoah 1862 was listening to the M&M stories.

That, and learning from "Scrooge" that sauerkraut is a condiment. I hovered like a buzzard waiting for his call for seconds, too.
