Just wondering, as I saw the same question on the AC today, is anyone on top of this? I've sent an e-mail to Scot Buffington..no reply, put a question up on the website, no reply. It'd be a shame to see this event self destruct. Just wondering what's going on?

Scott was at a living history at Chatham Manor this weekend.  He's planning on coming and it's still a "max effort" for the 3rd USV.  I think the CVG are going in blue, too.  Given the distance and the physical demands, I'm sure they won't get all their people out, but if everyone who thinks it has real potential signs up, they'll have more than enough to have fun.  Hope to see you there!

Mike,

OK, thanks! That makes me feel better about the event. I had done so much work in convincing one of my mainstream unit folks to come with me and I don't want to see this event fall through the cracks. Besides, if it stops raining long enough through there, folks are going to see some of the most beautiful ground they've ever seen. If you think McDowell is pristine, the area Allegheny is using could best be described as either hardly changed since the war or nearly wilderness. It would also be to folk's benefit to drive on over to Cheat Summit Fort just to get an idea how far the troops moved to attack Allegheny, and then marched back the same day!
