Are you absolutly sure it's not supposed to rain at events?

Dave:
Hence my decision to venture into the world of Marine & Navy living history. I just got accustomed to having water all around me  :/

I think I'll go to the Redding Farm next weekend...LOL...no way, costs too much.

Rememeber When....it rained so much they moved Gettysburg from July to August....well buddy, the rain situation is worse this year then it was then. Better bring along a tow chain and an extra gum blanket...or three...just in case.

Grumpy,

I'm going to Independence Mall in Philadelphia. I'll be a Confederate POW for the weekend. (No guns to clean!)

Does it tell you anything that a good bit of jungle training was done in Alabama?

Every year I swear off events between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and every year somebody rooks me into one.

I have discovered that a tin pan filled with ice water can be fully concealed under a hoop skirt, as long as I don't make too much noise when I put my feet into it. And don't move.

Mrs. Lawson,

I spent the summer at the Fort Benning School for Delinquent Boys, in Georgia and the winter at Fort Polk, Louisiana before my trip to Vietnam. Years later, I had the opportunity to experience Fort Polk in August. I have often wished the South had won the Civil War, so the U.S. Army would have been forced to build their posts in more favorable climates.
