i have my bonnet (straw) and realized i really need to put silk flowers on it, and a ribbon or something on the back. How does one attach the flowers? Hot glue obviously isnt very period!!

My bonnets are all silk, but the flowers are just tacked on with thread.  This was often done so the display could be changed.
