There's eight events shown on the A-C's list of Top Tier EBUFU events for 2008. Which ones are you attending and why?   smile/tracker.gif

For me I have slated Picket's Mill/New Hope Church and Marmaduke's Raid.  I have done PM before and it was awesome and is put on by close friends.  Marmy's is simple.  It's a different scenario and it's west.

Looks like Pickett's is my only top tier event this year. I'm still trying to figure out which WIG event I'm going to.

I'm planning on Winter of '64, Glendale-Malvern Hill, and Fredericksburg, After the Battle. I'm attending The Winter of '64 because it will be a very different experience and I'm out of my mind. I'm planning on Glendale-Malvern Hill and After the Battle, because both are on original ground. After the land is turned over to the NPS, there won't be any more opposing sides reenactments on these sites. So, this may be the only chance to be on the ground.

Funny, I'll probably be colder at Fredericksburg, VA then I'll be at Newfane, New York. I remember Payne's Farm, held at roughly the same time of the year.

 Yes, if I'm registered for
the event; expect buckets of rain.

Winter of '64, Glendale-Malvern Hill, and Fredericksburg--I have companies at all three. And, that's all that's on my list for the year. And, I can cross two more battlefields off my "slept here and made it rain" list.

Winter of 64 and Marmadukes Raid. Winter 64 because I get to go south east and see my Eastern friends. And Marmadukes because it's close and I get to see my Western friends as well as command a company. I'd like to do Glendale, ATB and PM but can only afford 2 trips that far east.

Let's keep those F'burg temps at 33 degrees F or above, so we don't have ice shooting from the spring hut manifolds this time around.

Charles,

I was wearing a black slouch hat at Payne's Farm. I put it over my brogans before I went to "sleep" Friday night. The hat was frozen stiff and pure white when I got up Saturday morning. It stayed that way until 10:00 AM. That's probably not true; but, it's my post event story and I'm sticking to it.   smile/!fou.gif

Definitely:
Winter 64
Marmaduke's Raid
Westville

Possibly:
Glendale-Malvern Hill and After the Battle, depending on what the medical staff's doing

Anyone who has to go South to get to Winter of 64 live too far north!

I'd like to have scheduled Winter of 64, but because of a bad case of frostbite as a child, I can't hazard the probability of extreme cold weather.  Of course, if Grumpy goes, it will be 45 degrees and rain all weekend.  I could handle that....

Probably Picketts Mill, if things work out.

For me, just Marmaduke's Raid.  The only other event I have this year is the Perryville On the Farm, Horse Fair.  I'm slowing down, but Hank's still at full speed.

Linda.

At this point, probably only "After the Battle - Fredericksburg" ...because it's not Too Far Away.  Most other events are either too distant (I live in NE Maryland) and/or require too much time off work.

I am hoping to attend ATB in November, but I may need to see about borrowing a de-farbed musket from someone.  As I haven't done that to mine yet.  Also checking to see if I can get a kitchen pass for that weekend too.

Chris,

Why not come out to a wig event? I plan on going to Stone's River in October.
