It is with extreme remorse that I announce the passing of Hank Kluin, the owner of F. Burgess and Company on October 7th, 2009. Hank made a tremendous impact upon the hobby, and his contribution to reproduction leathergoods continues on through the people that studied under him.

Details of the funeral arrangement will be announced later.

Sorry to hear of the news. Was Hank's Company based out of Oklahoma and did he make saddles?

If so, a friend of mine had one which was nicely made. I just happen to remember that company name for some reason.

Either way....my prayers to all in need.

Respectfully,

Eric G.

Eric:

Hank's business, F. Burgess & company, was based out of Red Bank NJ.

He leaves a wife and son behind.

Hank was 57.

Chris Schreiber who also was a master leatherworker died at age 52.

Two great talents lost in the prime of life.
