Hi folks, I noticed some discussion in another thread about some civilian impressions at Sept Storm and I wondered about a chap that I encountered before the battle on Saturday.  We were with the Carolina Legion on the Confederate side, resting in the shade by the side of the road for the advance of the Federals when he came along.  He asked if we knew what road it was but as we were a NC regt in Garland's Brigade at the time, none of us knew where the heck we were.  He then asked if he could trade for some tobacco.  I traded him a cigar for an apple.  This was a nice portrayal and it added a nice touch to our pre-battle experience.  I wonder if any know who this might have been?
