Gentlemen,
The Western Independent Grays (WIG) are hosting a living history in March at the Pea Ridge National Battlefield Park. This is the first time the WIG has gone to Pea Ridge. This event will recreate the split of Van Dorn's forces, one marching from north (McCulloch with the 4th Arkansas) and the other south (Missouri State Guard with Van Dorn). The WIG promises to offer scenarios and situations that we do not regularly encounter at a National Park Living History.

I will be commanding the company protraying the 4th Arkansas. Brian Hicks will be serving as our Lt and Herb Coats will be our Orderly Sgt. We would appreciate any and all support from those wishing to attend this event. You do not have to be a WIG member to participate. You must only be able to meet the uniform and event guidelines. This will not be a static living history following the routes and actions of the original units as much as possible. If you are interested and would like more information please visit the event website at http://www.westernindependentgrays.org/pearidge08/

With less than two months till the event, you need to get registrations in soon.

Tripp,

Good to see you here. I'm not going to make Pea Ridge butI do hope to make Stone's River.

Gentlemen,
Anyone considering attending the WIG's Pea Ridge LH event we only have 3 weeks away. Now is the time to get those registrations in to Art Milbert, the event coordinator. All are welcome to attend that can meet the event guidelines. There are two units being portrayed, the 4th Arkansas and the Missouri State Guard. For more information on the event go to http://www.westernindependentgrays.org/pearidge08/

We are going to get a chance to move over the same ground Van Dorn's troops moved over in 1862. We have also been given permission to burn fence rails. How many times have you had the chance to take down a split rail fence and burn it? I know this event is far for many but it will offer you a chance to do several unique things on an original Battlefield.

Thanks Robert for the welcome.

Tripp, I moved you here where you may get more play. The WIG put on a first rate event, or, so I've herd from some pretty respectable folks!

6 gum blankets? May not be enough.

There are now less than two weeks till this event. Still you have time to register. So get those registrations in. Art and the rest of the WIG staff have put a lot of effort to pull this one off.
