The Rowdy Pards are hosting a company sized Living History event at Spangler's Spring on the Gettysburg NMP, during the weekend of May 9-11, 2008.  We will be portraying the 2nd. Massachusetts Infantry for the weekend. Participants will be expected to maintain a campaign-style impression when in Spangler's Meadow and while interacting with park visitors.  Participants will be free to tour the battlefield or take advantage of the sutlers and local economy after the last demonstration Saturday afternoon.  Friday night arrival is ok, keep in mind that park rules require all participants staying on the battlefield to be in camp no later than 10:00pm (this also applies on Saturday evening too).  For more information contact Bill Rodman at wrodman1@aol.com.

Bill,

I have a couple of quick questions about the event.
1) I guess that we need to bring our own food. Correct?
2) Where do we need to park our vehicles?
3) What time do we need to arrive because I will be up at Gettysburg sometime after 7PM? I never had to deal with the NPS and weapons so I was wondering how the park deals with
weapons inspection?  Will they get upset if they see a person walking to the camp area with a firearm?    smile/AR15firing.gif

Thanks

Mark,

I'm glad you're coming. I'll see you on Sunday.

As an aside, the Rowdy Pards have developed an outstanding relationship with the folks at GBNMP. It makes life a lot easier when the people in charge know you aren't going to do anything stupid.

Bill,

Sorry but could not make the event.  On Thursday, I woke up with a sore throat and was not able to shake it by this morning.   I did not want to sit outside all day in a damp and cold setting.  Hopefully I can make it to the next RP LH.

So Bill that was you guys setting up in the rain Friday afternoon?

I was down to help maintain the 125th NYVI monument (which couldn't be done thanks to the rain).

How did it go?
