“The Eastern Flank”-Federal LH- Franklin, TN

WHO?- Brought to you by the Dippin’ Gourd Mess / Independent Mess.
           Open to any Mess/Independents/Units willing to meet the standards
          and have a good attitude. Representing Company A, 123d Indiana  
          Volunteer Infantry Regiment circa November 1864.

WHAT?- A progressive Living History with any proceeds going to the
         “Friends of Franklin Battlefield”.  Daytime tours and          
          Demonstrations for spectators, nighttime immersion scenarios
           for the Living Historians. Company Field Kitchen/Chow Line.  
          This is an invite only/no walk on Company sized Living History-        
          Please pre-register. For an unit/mess/individual invite email Eli

WHEN?- June 20th-22nd,2008.

WHERE?- Franklin, Tennessee- The Battle of Franklin Civil War Park,    
                  next to the Carnton Mansion.

FEDERAL COMMANDER- Brian Hicks
MILITARY COORDINATORS- Eli Geery, Bill Little
CIVILIAN COORDINATOR*- Nichole Goughnour

*Very limited, but intense civilian scenario-few slots, but promises a very active weekend, those citizens interested in working your tail off please email for invite.


FEDERAL GUIDELINES
Company A, 123d Indiana

Headgear 1)1858 Dress Hat (Hardee Hat)
2) Type II Federal Forage Cap
3) Documented Civilian style hat-MUST BE BLACK!

Tunic   1) Federal Fatigue Blouse (St Louis, Cincinnati and SA)
2) Federal Enlistedmens Frock Coat (NCOs’ only)

Shirt    1) Federal Issue Shirt (wool or donnet)
2) Documented civilian pattern shirt

Trousers 1) Federal Enlistedmens Foot Trousers in Sky blue
Kersey ONLY.-no civilian trousers.  NCO stripes
Where appropriate.

Shoes     1) Federal issue bootee or brogan
2) Documented Civilian or Military style boot.

Socks   1) Federal issue cotton
2) Documented civilian wool or cotton

Drawers   1) federal pattern
2) Civilian pattern

Musket    1) 1861 Springfield with appropriate leathers and
Bayonet
2) 1853 Enfield with appropriate leathers and bayonet

Knapsack    1) Federal Double bag or bedroll

Blanket        2) Federal issue blanket in brown or gray
w/ stripes and stitched "US"
Documented civilian style wool or cotton
Blanket or coverlet, floor cover or
Carpet.

Canteens       1) Federal smooth side canteen

I just found out that Pat Cleburns sidearm and holster will be on display this weekend to coincide with our FEd LH-very cool!
