West Liberty, Kentucky. Our company did a living history there this year and it was so well received that they asked for an actual reenactment. We are still in the finalization stages, but here is what we know so far:
September 25th, 26th, and 27th. There will be a $100 bounty for the largest Union infantry unit on the field with at least 20 rifles. There will also be a powder ration for every rifle on the field. Breakfast will be provided both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Supper will be provided Saturday evening. Straw, water, and wood will be provided free of charge. The registration fee has yet to be determined, but it will be between $3 and $5. It will be an artillery and infantry battle only (no cavalry). This takes place during the county’s annual Sorghum Festival. You can expect between 20,000 and 30,000 spectators. More information will be provided as finalizations are made.

More information is forth coming and I will update as needed. I just wanted to get this out before units start having their yearly meetings to determine next year’s schedule.

We know that some events are not very reenactor friendly. This event is designed with the reenactor in mind. While there if you or your unit needs anything, ask the event staff. We will provide to the best of our abilities.

The website is being updated regularly as more details become available. I am told that there will be a bounty specifically for Union Infantry. Keep watching the site.
