Is it possible that the vests could be civilian black rather than military indigo blue, thus increasing the contrast? I ask this based on the second picture, comparing the gentleman's hair color to the color of the vest. Also, assuming his rank stripes are something near sky blue, the sack is quite a bit darker. | |||

Ken, Notice how far the button are set back from the edge of the coat. I wonder if they were moved for a better fit? I wear one of Nick's Martin Contract sack coats. It does make you stand out in a crowd. I've noticed a wide variation in the color of surviving sack coats. It's often difficult to tell exactly what you're looking at. Most of us don't get an opportunity to put two or more originals next to each other and photos can be deceiving. | ||||
