I have modified theses boots by neatly trimming off the "mule ear" flaps making them a straght 17 inches tall. I am looking for a few items and would consider partial trades for quality gear from reputable makers;
1)Used, but not abused 1858 dress hat(Hardee) in a 71/4-71/2(23 inches) or a Confederate copied "hardee" in light brown same size.
2) A quality Federal Forrage Cap or private purchase Kepi size 71/4-71/2(23 inches) in good condition.
3) Used federal brogans size 8.5, good condition.
