i have braces (the kind that go in your mouth, yea bet you thought i would be talking about something else.) Just want to know how you guys feel this will affect my impression. I was hoping to get them off this summer, but for some reasons they are still attached to my teeth

Coincidentally, there was a thread on that very topic recently here: http://www.cwreenactors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6196

Somethings you can't help or avoid.. therefore, I do my best to ignore them on people.  We have some younger members of our unit and they have them.  But it isn't a huge deal..

They just don't say much so you don't notice them.

I would love to have 20 to 30 younger members in my unit and they can all have braces if they want.   The reason is the braces will be removed in a couple of years but have young reenactors will make our company look like a company not just a squad of 10 guys.

I can agree with that..
Our unit has recently had an influx of some kids 17-19 years old.  And the braces on the teeth is the least of the worries for me.
