I had to look it up too..
Although my first thought was "Red Badge of Courage" but once I looked it up I realized I was wrong.

Ride With The Devil is one of the better CW movies and IMHO one of the best.

One year for Christmas my parents got me the VHS version of Andersonville, which was 2 tapes.  I went to watch it one day and put in the 2nd tape, only to realize they had sent us 2 copies of Tape 1.  So I only had half the movie.

Anyways the place sent us a new copy, and the copy I had became a white elephant gift..

Good movie.. my favorite part is when they sing "Buffalo Gals.."

One of our guys was an extra in “Andersonville.”  He said the director had problems with so many people having southern accents among what were supposed to be Federal prisoners.

Ken

I have started to watch this again.. and maybe you might have noticed this or maybe I didn't hear the line correctly..

When the 19th MA get to Andersonville and they are rescued from the Raiders by Dick, he talks about how he signed up with the boys and fought with them at the Chickamauga and Antietam.  But he was wounded at Antietam and that is where he was captured.

Did I hear him correctly or did I miss something in the translation?

I fially got a chance to rent Andersonville.  I got to watch it a couple of times so far while I'm recuperating from surgery. love it.

Jeff,

We visited Andersonville this past October and ran into both Yank & Reb reinactors at the museum as there was a reenactment taking place that afternoon at the fair.

Your pictures reminded me of the 25 or 30 that I took and I spent some time looking at them again and remembering the sobering effect visiting the cemetery had on me.
