On friday night, we were sitting down to watch some tv for a little bit and my wife saw the heading for this show coming on:
http://www.shoppbs.org/sm-pbs-gettysburg-the-boys-in-blue-and-gray-dvd--pi-1402930.html

I watched it, and it was interesting, but it did the usual items of Gettysburg.  Iron Brigade on the first day, Reynolds being killed, then LRT on the 2nd day, then Longstreets Assault on the 3rd day..

They used reenactors for the action scenes and I guess footage from one of the Gettysburg reenactments, I wasn't sure which one.  And it looks like they may have filmed some stuff at Neshaminy..

Did anyone else happen to catch it on tv?

I happen to buzz by the show and watched for a few minutes. A lot of times at the bigger events in the past stock footage is shot for future use by films such as this.

 Yes, if I'm registered for

I always like the Pennsylvania Cable Network(PCN)replays of the battlefield tours. All of the information without the heat and bugs.

Dave,

Those are usually good, but the problem I have had in past tours is the ranger is talking about an area on the battlefield and pointing, but the camera just stays on the ranger. It is funny to see some of the tators also and the clothes they are wearing

Those PBS tater's are just like re'nactors; not properly prepared for an event on a hot, humid PA day.

I forget which night it was this past weekend when it was on, but Other Half and I started watching it. I wasn't impressed. Production quality was lame and the (lack of) talent was very much apparent. Kept hoping that something of quality would come up, but it was like a train wreck.

All in all, it was an hour lost.
