There is a a Confederate Work Day scheduled for 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 12th to prepare for the Neshaminy Event. We will be cutting brush and/or splitting and delivering firewood to the camps. We will meet at the far end of the Neshaminy Parking Lot, over where the sutlers are located. The work days usually end around 12:00 or 1:00 PM, followed by a trip to a local watering hole, for lunch and beverages. Bring work gloves and a chain saw, if you own one.
Gentlemen, the reason Neshaminy is able to charge only $7.00 dollars for registration and still donate reasonable amounts of money for preservation is pretty simple. Volunteers do the work to prepare for the event. As a good example, our firewood is free. The State Park supplies the trees, we supply the muscle to split and haul it. Members of the 28th. Pennsylvania are already working on the site. We're only asking one day's work from the local Confederate participants.
If you can attend the work day, please leave me a message at wrodman1@aol.com. We want to insure there is sufficient equipment on site for the number of workers participating.
Thanks in advance.
