You old timers, out there, will remember the event that was held in Whitehall Township, just outside of Allentown, PA. Well, the event has been resurrected by "The Friends of Camp Geiger", a group of reenactors, local history buffs, and Whitehall Township. It's being held on the same piece of ground, with the great area for tacticals, back behind the camping area. It really is a beautiful location. The Confederate camp site has been enlarged, cleared, and leveled to make better use of the available land. The event is scheduled for the weekend of June 13-15, 2008. Rick Madzarac is the Federal Commander. Yours truly, will be commanding the Confederate troops. The Event Organizers have built substantial breastworks for both the Federal and Confederate forces to use during the spectator battles on Saturday and Sunday. There's a tactical scheduled for Sunday morning. The registration fee is only $7.00 dollars and walk-ons are accepted for the same fee. The registration forms and more information about the event can be found on the Event Web Site www.campgeiger.org This is a new event and the organizers have put in a tremendous amount of effort to get it off the ground. They could really use your support. | |||
